You can combine objects to create different shapes. The resulting shapes depend on the way objects are combined. Combining objects makes it easier to create complex shapes as it makes it possible to apply addition, subtraction and intersection operations to object geometries.
Union
The operation of adding objects allows to obtain a shape with a single contour. The new shape uses the perimeter of the summed objects as the outline and adopts the fill and outline properties of the last selected object. All intersection lines disappear.
Subtraction
The object subtraction operation creates a new shape from the main object area that does not overlap the object area to subtract. The new shape adopts the filling and contour properties of the last selected object.

Intersection
The operation of intersecting objects creates a new shape from an area where two or more objects overlap. The new shape adopts the filling and contour properties of the last selected object.
