The object intersection operation creates a new shape from an area where two or more objects overlap. The new shape captures the fill and contour properties of the last selected object.

The object intersection operation can be used on the following object types: Shape, circle, ellipse, and rectangle.

To perform an intersection between objects

Do the following:

  1. Select the source objects.

  2. Press and hold SHIFT and select the main object.

  3. Choose the command Operations ยป Boolean » Intersect or click the button in the toolbar.

The new object, which is created by overlapping parts of the source object and the parent object, acquires the fill and outline properties of the parent object.
