Using this dialog box you can manage the netlist for the PCB. You can add a new net or remove existing nets, change the properties of the nets and manage the pads and pins associated with the nets.

To open this dialog, choose the Net Manager command in the PCB menu.

NotaNote:

In this dialog, the term Pin is used to indicate the pins of components in the schematic that are not yet placed on the PCB. The term pad is used to indicate the pads of components placed on the PCB.

Nets

This box lists the nets defined in the PCB.

Name

The name of the net. If the net is defined at PCB level, it is possible to change the name of the net by selecting it and clicking on the name with the left mouse button. If the net is defined in the schematic, the name must be set in the schematic using an object Net Label.

Class

To change the net class, select the net and click on the class name to display the class list.

Source

Indicates whether the net is defined in the schematic or in the PCB.

To filter the nets

Select one of the following options listed in the List box:

  1. All nets.

  2. Only unused nets, i.e. nets to which no pins are associated.

  3. Only the nets that have been completed.

  4. Only the nets that need to be completed.

  5. Only nets belonging to a certain class.

  6. Only those nets that have been added to the PCB and are not present in the schematic.

To add a new net

  1. Click the Nuovo net button. The dialog box for specifying the net name and the class opens.

To delete a single net

  1. Click the button to remove checkmarks from all the nets.

  2. Select the net to remove.

  3. Click the Delete net button.

To delete a group of nets

  1. Click the button to remove checkmarks from all nets.

  2. Activate the check marks only on the nets to be removed.

  3. Click the Delete net button.

To change the class of a single net

  1. Click the button to remove checkmarks from all nets.

  2. Select the net to update.

  3. Click the Change class button.

To change the class to a group of nets

  1. Click the button to remove checkmarks from all nets.

  2. Only activate the check marks on the nets to be modified.

  3. Click the Change class button.

List of pins/pads included in the net

Lists all pins and pads associated with the net selected in the Nets box.

Name

The pin name in the form: Component reference - Pin number (pin name) or the pad name in the form: Component reference - Pad number (Pad name - Electrical type).

Type

The type can be either Pin or Pad. Pin comes used to indicate the pins of the components present in the schematic but not yet placed in the PCB. Pad is used to indicate the pads of the components placed on the PCB.

To add a pin/pad to the net

  1. In the Pin/pad list box, select the pin or pad to be added to the net.

  2. Click the button .

To remove a pin/pad from the net

  1. Click the button to remove checkmarks from all pins/pads.

  2. Activate the check marks only on the pins/pads to be removed.

  3. Click the button .

Pins/pads list

This box lists the pins of the components present in the schematic but not yet placed on the PCB and the pads of the components placed on the PCB.

List only free pins/pads

If this option is enabled, only pins and pads that are not associated with a net are listed.

To highlight the net to which a pin/pad is associated

  1. Select the pin/pad.

  2. Click the button .
