The beginning of a new job corresponds to the creation of the Job, which must contain all the projects and documents that will be created later.

To create a new Job

Do one of the following:

  • Choose New from the File menu and then click Job.

  • Right-click inside the Job Panel to open the menu and then choose New » Job.

  • This opens the New Job dialog box in which to specify the job title.

To change the title of the Job

  1. Open the Job Properties. Do one of the following:

    1. Right-click inside the Job Panel on the first line (job line) and choose Job Properties.

    2. Press the key combination CTRL+ALT+J.

  2. In the Job Properties dialog box, select the Job tab in the left pane.
  3. Set the value of the field Job Title.

The Job is not yet matched with a file on the disk.

To associate a file to the Job

  • Choose the Save command from the File menu.

  • Type the file name.


The starting point for creating any graphic document (electrical schematic, PCB) is a Job template file. The default settings, styles, etc. are stored in the Job template files.

To use a Job as a template it is useful to add, in the Job, a page with the description of the template. See Add an information page to Job.
