The Job panel lists all the elements (projects, folders and documents) that make up the job.

You can expand folders by clicking the button Pulsante espandi to the left of the folder name. To compress the folders, click the Pulsante comprimi button.

Right-click on the desired item in the Job task pane to see the actions you can take, for example: New document, Delete document o Document properties.

To move a document or folder within the job:

  • To move a document to another folder, recycle bin, or other project, click the document name and drag it to the destination folder.

Trash bin

In the Job panel there is a particular folder to use as a bin in which to store documents that do not belong to the projects included in the job but which are not considered to want to destroy.

Shared documents

In the Job panel there is a particular folder to be used to store documents that are shared between several documents or projects. The main purpose of this folder is to contain the wiring diagrams that are associated with Sheet objects present in more than one project.

Attachments

Allows you to attach external files to the Job. The attached file is stored in the Job and saved with it.

An attached file can be: opened, updated, exported or deleted from the Job. Right-click on the attached file name to display the command menu.

When you open an attached file, a copy is exported to the TEMP folder and then the program that generated the file is activated. If you make any changes to the file you must save it and then select the Update file command; in this way reimports the modified file.

To attach a file to the Job:

  • Right-click on the name of the project or the folder where the file is to be placed.

  • In the displayed menu click on Import file.

To update a file attached to the Job:

  • Right-click on the name of the attachment to be updated.

  • In the displayed menu click on Update file.

To export a file attached to the Job:

  • Right-click on the name of the attachment to be exported.

  • In the displayed menu click on Export file.

Commands in the Job panel menu

Command Description

New Job 

Closes the current Job and creates a new empty Job.

Open Job 

Opens an existing Job. The Open Job dialog opens to choose the Job to open.

Save Job 

Saves the current job.

Close Job 

Closes the current Job.

Rename Job 

Assign a new name to the current Job. An edit box appears around the name of the Job. Type in the new name and click outside the edit box to complete the action. The job name can also be assigned in the Job Properties dialog box.

Job Properties 

Opens the Job Properties dialog box.

New project 

Adds a new project to the Job. A dialog opens in which to enter the name of the new project.

Rename Project 

Assign a new name to the selected project. An edit box appears around the project name. Type in the new name and click outside the edit box to complete the action. The project name can also be assigned in the Project properties dialog box.

Remove Project 

Moves the selected project, and all its contents, to the trash bin. To restore the project, click the project name and drag it to the desired location.

Delete Project 

Deletes the selected project, and all its contents, from the Job. Deleted items can no longer be recovered. To temporarily exclude a project from the Job use the command Remove project.

Project properties 

Opens the Project properties dialog box.

New document 

Adds a new document to the Job. The New document dialog box opens where you can specify the name and type (Pattern, PCB, Library) of the document to be added to the Job.

Open the document 

Opens the selected document.

Close document 

Closes the selected document.

Rename document 

Assign a new name to the selected document. An edit box appears around the document name. Type in the new name and click outside the edit box to complete the action. The document name can also be assigned in the Properties of the document dialog box.

Remove document 

Move the document to the trash bin. To restore the document, click on its name and drag it to the desired location.

Delete document 

Deletes the selected document from the Job. Deleted items can no longer be recovered. To temporarily exclude a document from the Job use the command Remove document.

Document properties 

Opens the Document properties dialog box.

Copy document 

Copies the selected document to the clipboard. Once a document has been copied to the clipboard, it can be pasted to another Job using the Paste document command.

Paste document 

Paste, in the current Job, a document previously copied to the clipboard using the command Copy document.

Import document 

Import, in the current Job, a document previously saved as a template using the Save as template command in the File menu.

New folder 

Adds a new folder to the Job. A dialog box opens in which you can enter the name of the folder.

Rename folder 

Assign a new name to the selected folder. An edit box appears around the folder name. Type in the new name and click outside the edit box to complete the action.

Remove folder 

Moves the selected folder, and all its contents, to the trash bin. To restore the folder, click the folder name and drag it to the desired location.

Delete folder 

Deletes the selected folder, and all its contents, from the Job. Deleted items can no longer be recovered. To temporarily exclude a folder from the Job use the command Remove folder.

Generate Zip archive 

Creates a compressed archive containing all text documents and attached files included in the folder. This command can be used to create the file to be sent to the PCB manufacturer.

Import files 

Opens the dialog box to choose the external file to attach to the Job. The attached file is stored in the Job and saved with it.

Open file 

Activate the appropriate application and open the file attached to the Job.

Update file 

When you open an attached file, a copy is exported to the TEMP folder and then the program that generated the file is activated. If you make any changes to the file you must save it and then select the Update file command; in this way reimports the modified file.

Export file 

Opens the dialog box to choose the location where to export the attached file.

Assigns a new name to the selected attachment file. An edit box appears around the file name. Type in the new name and click outside the edit box to complete the action.
