This dialog box allows you to modify the properties of each object included in the device, the order in which objects are overlaid within the device and the specific attributes of the device.

Device

This tab lists the properties of the device.

Reference

Specifies the reference of the component. For example: R1, U10. The reference is unique for each component. If not specified it is the same as the one set in the library, such as R? or U?; The question mark indicates that the reference must be completed during the automatic numbering operation. Further properties related to the reference can be set in the Properties dialog of the Reference object; activate the Objects tab and double-click the Reference object.

Value

Specifies the value of the component or the type. For example: 10K, 74LS00. Further value-related properties can be set in the Value object's properties dialog box; activate the Objects tab and double-click the Value object.

Rotation

Specify the angle of rotation of the device.

Layer

Select the layer on which the device is placed.

Position X

Set the horizontal position of the device origin point.

Position Y

Set the vertical position of the device origin point.

Options

Show reference

If this option is active the reference is visible otherwise it is hidden.

Show value

If this option is enabled the value is visible otherwise it is hidden.

Pads

This tab lists all pads included in the device. To view the properties of a pad, double-click on the pad name.

To change the style of the pads

Perform the following operations:

  1. Check the box for each pad to be modified.

  2. Select the new pad style.

  3. Click the Change button.

3D Model

In this tab you can specify the 3D model to associate with the component. The list box lists the 3D models embedded in the Job.

You can translate, rotate, and resize the 3D model to position it exactly on the footprint.

Commands

Command Description

This box lists the 3D models embedded in the Job.

Opens the dialog box where you can choose the 3D model to import.

Incorporates the 3D model into the Job. The model is saved in the Job in the 3D Models folder. If the Job is distributed, it is convenient to embed the external 3D models.

Setting parameters for 3D models imported from files.

Displays the Footprint wizard dialog box. For some families of components it is possible to create 3D models automatically by specifying the dimensional parameters of the components.

Allows you to change the colors of 3D models imported from external files.

Delete the imported 3D model.

Objects

This tab shows the list of all objects included in the device.

To change the properties of objects

Perform the following operations:

  1. Double-click on the object name. The object properties dialog box opens.

To change the attributes of objects

Perform the following operations:

  1. Select the object from the list.

  2. Choose the Attributes command. The object's attributes dialog box opens.

To change the order in which objects overlap

Perform the following operations:

  1. Select the object from the list.

  2. Choose the Move up command to bring the object up one position or the Move down command to bring the object down one position.

To copy an object to the clipboard

Perform the following operations:

  1. Select the object from the list.

  2. Choose the Copy command.

To paste an object from the clipboard

Perform the following operations:

  1. Select a layer or an object to indicate the position where the object to be pasted should be placed.

  2. Choose the Paste command.

To remove an object

Perform the following operations:

  1. Select the object from the list.

  2. Choose the Delete command.

Attributes

This tab lists all the internal attributes associated with the device. Internal attributes have a name and value and can be used to associate information to objects. For example: the internal code, the price etc. See Dialog box: Attributes.
