Allows you to create different types of documents: graphic documents for drawings, electrical schematics, PCBs and diagrams; text documents; libraries of symbols and components.


Document creation is only possible within projects, so before creating a document you must create at least one project.

To create a new document

  1. Do one of the following to open the New Document dialog:

    • If the Job includes only one project, choose New from the File menu and then click Document.

    • Within the Job Panel, right-click on the project name where you want to add the document, in the menu that appears choose New » Document.

  2. In the dialog box, specify the document title, type, and basic template.


The starting point for creating any graphic document (electrical schematic, PCB) is a drawing template file. The default settings, styles, etc. are stored in the drawing template files.
