In order to resize objects, you must first select them. Transformations can be applied simultaneously to any selection, consisting of a single object, multiple objects or a group of objects. You can change the size of an object by specifying precise values or by interactively modifying the object.

NotaNote:

When you resize objects that have a fill, the object is transformed but the size and orientation of the pattern remain unchanged.

An object can only be resized if it has the status flag The object can be resized setted. The symbols of electrical components and PCB objects are initialized with this flag reset; To resize them you need to change the state of the Flag.

To resize objects using the mouse

An object can be resized directly with the mouse without having to use menu commands. You can interactively resize the selection on the screen by dragging the mouse.

Perform the following operations:

  1. Select the objects to be resized.

  2. Move the mouse pointer over one of the hooks for editing the selection. The pointer takes the shape corresponding to the type of resizing.

  3. Press the main mouse button and drag the hook. The selection widens or shrinks to reflect the dragging of the mouse.

  4. Release the mouse button when the object has reached the desired size.

SuggerimentoTip:

If the grid snap is active you will get a jerky shift according to the value set for the snap. To temporarily disable the grid snap, press the F8 key.

To resize while maintaining the proportions of the object

You can resize an object by simultaneously changing its length and width while respecting its proportions. To resize an object proportionally, drag one of the hooks located in the corners of the selection rectangle.

To resize without maintaining the proportions of the object

You can resize an object by simultaneously changing its length and width without respecting its proportions. To resize an object in a non-proportional way, press the CTRL key and drag one of the hooks located in the corners of the selection rectangle.

To extend or widen an object

Elongation non-proportionally changes the vertical and horizontal dimensions of the object. To change only the height or width of an object, drag one of the hooks located in the middle of the sides of the selection rectangle.

To mirror the object

To mirror an object, drag the hook across the object to the opposite side.

To resize an object from the transformation center

To resize an object with respect to the transformation center of the selection, press the SHIFT key and drag one of the hooks of the selection rectangle.

To resize objects by specifying parameters

Use this mode when you need to resize the object precisely.

To resize an object

Perform the following operations:

  1. Select the objects to be resized.

  2. Choose the Operations » Resize command or click the tool in the toolbar. The Resize dialog box opens.

  3. Specify the parameters. Select the Same proportions box to maintain the proportions of the object.

  4. Click OK to close the dialog box.
